About Forbidden

Forbidden is a short film about the female dancers of Iran; it's about the restrictions and the fact that dancing is illegal for women in Iran and how they've yet managed to learn it and dance despite the conflicts they face. The film shows Niousha, a 22-year-old dancer from Iran, the conflicts she's faced in her dancing experience, and how she's continued to dance nevertheless.

About Niusha Goudarzi

Niusha Goudarzi is a ballerina and artist based in Germany. She attended Azad University as a Bachelor of Graphics student. During her study she concentrated on graphic design (computer), photography and drawing. She has trained in ballet since 2004 and has studied and trained in other dance styles such as character, folklore, samba, cha-cha, jive, contemporary, contact improvisation, and hip hop. Goudarzi’s work consists of social art and protest art through movement and dance. She tries to be the voice of social problems in her dance and artworks.
