About Katie

Katie Moorhead trained in Pennsylvania and at 15, performed with Russian Ballet Theater under Robert LaFosse. A YAGP silver medalist, she graduated with honors from the Kirov in Washington, DC. At 19, she contracted with Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, then numerous companies which included tours to Denmark, Poland, Italy, Australia, Kazakhstan and South Africa. She performed in festivals at DUMBO, La MaMa Moves, Central Park SummerStage, City Center and others. She choreographed for the L.I. Opera’s 50th gala, was a substitute at Alvin Ailey Extension Program, was awarded a Diploma from the Tersiphora Foundation, St. Petersburg, Russia, and danced at the United Nations. She enjoyed performing with Newport Contemporary Ballet (formerly IMC) and producing works with other artists. She is featured in a few short films (USA and Katoomba NSW) and happily runs GYROTONIC® Newport.
