About Jennifer Scully-Thurston
Jennifer Scully-Thurston has meandered her way in and out of the dance, movement and arts worlds her whole life. She has traveled the world in Off-Broadway shows, small contemporary companies, taught in higher education and found her voice again as "Dancer With An Attitude" writing dance, theater and book reviews. Her work caught the attention of Dance Critics Association and their 2011 Emerging Writer Award. She brought movement expertise to the world of animation and film with Grasshorse Studios. Continued honing her administrative chops with CORE Performance Company, a small but prolific internationally touring dance company based in Houston and Atlanta. Today she is bringing her skills, dance and music, to the public school system through NC Arts in Action.
She is "over the moon" to be amidst a reinvention and artistic renaissance as a dance filmmaker, curator and video installation artist. Her works have been featured at Fieldwork, James River Filmmakers Forum, EYEDRUM, EnCORE: Dance on Film, Alternate Roots, Movies by Movers, Love/d & Sex/ed & dOORS cAN dANCE. Her ongoing collaborations include works with; Christopher Thurston (Composer), Onur Topal- Sumer (Dancer & Filmmaker), Jeff Roll (Filmmaker) and Dustin Glasco (Editor).
Momentum is growing in pulling all of her dispirate dance endeavors together through Rogue Dancer Productions. In the meantime, the work is happening and in full swing. So keep an out for all the current and future DANCE happenings!
