About The Game

The Game looks at the tension between desire, trust, discretion and revelation. The Game is the dance of Introduction. The Game is played in public spaces in our desire to overcome post lockdown loneliness.... The Game is a dance of self-expression. The Game is played between two, or more, players.

About Jamie Carabetta

Jamie Carabetta began making dances for the neighborhood children at the age of five to her dad’s Shirley Bassey records, gradually morphed into a light theatre ingénue before earning her MFA in dance at University of California, Irvine in 2000. As a musical theater dancer she performed nationally and internationally, touring the US and Japan. Jamie has had the honor of receiving numerous grants, from the NEA, NYFA, NYSCA, National Museum of Dance, CUNY Dance Initiative, California Arts Council, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles, Center for Cultural Innovation, the Annenberg Foundation and University of California, Irvine. Her choreography has been commissioned by over 10 colleges and performed in Japan and throughout the US. Her dance, The Line, was a finalist in the prestigious McCallum Theater’s Choreography Festival. A bicoastal choreographer, she has received residencies to create new work from CUNY Dance Initiative (2019 and 2020) and Vineyard Arts (2021), MAD Arts (2023). Jamie’s dance films have screened nationally and internationally, most recently No Man is an Island was featured in ADF's Movies by Makers (2022).
