About Relay
A dance film captured during the beginning of the pandemic. I felt the music and movement to be explorative of the dark and wild side of quarantine.
About Genevieve Shultz
Genevieve Shultz realized dance had become her calling while training in ballet, modern, and composition at a small studio near Pittsburgh, PA. She continued her studies at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance where she trained in Graham, Cunningham, Limon, ballet, Gaga, contact improvisation, and composition. During her time at the conservatory, she had the privilege of working in the creative processes of Rosalind Newman and Dava Fearon. The Conservatory of Dance has awarded her the honor of being one of three Composition Concentration students. Because of the concentration, she has had the opportunity to choreograph for the BA's production of Dance Nation. In the summer months, she has had the opportunity to train with different choreographers from around the world. In Amsterdam, she had the privilege to study the works of Crystal Pite, Ohad Naharin, and Jiri Kylian. At Trinitiy Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, Genevieve was able to study the works of Hofesh Shechter. Other events she has had the pleasure to be involved with include choreographing and performing in Texture Contemporary Ballet's WIP; choreographing and performing in Pittsburgh's Cellofest; and performing in the American Dance Festival at Alvin Ailey's Citigroup Theater.
