As part of our mission to celebrate and support contemporary dance and movement-based art, Motion State Arts is seeking to connect with the diverse dance communities of RI through a series of shared meals and collective conversations. We’ll instigate a discussion around the hopes, dreams, fears and needs of dance-makers in RI, and connect them to the larger national and international movement-arts scene. Possible topics include audience building, resource sharing, venue partnerships, and the diversity of contemporary practice in both live and cinematic settings. 

Each conversation taking place in a different neighborhood, with a different roster of attendees— including local dance makers, performers, supporters, as well as invited guests from across New England. Our first event will take place this fall at the Dye House in Olneyville, with subsequent events taking place in the fall and spring (locations TBD).
