About foreshore (2024)

foreshore: 1.) a strip of land margining a body of water. 2.) the part of a seashore between high-water and low-water marks.

This film was shot in June of 2024 at Popham Beach in Mid-coast Maine (USA), between low and high tide. In the winter of 2023, Popham Beach experienced terrible climate change related damage causing extreme shoreline change, damage to homes and buildings, and dune erosion. While the film is intrinsically linked to the changes that this land has seen, it is also exploring the human state of being between high and low points in our lives. That homeostasis place which exists as a place of balance between the best and worst moments we experience individually as humans.
