Noon–1pm: MIndful Movement with Joshua Tuason: An interoceptive practice to gain a deeper sense of self and build a capacity for body awareness. Based on the principles of the Alexander Technique we'll explore the body's relationship to habits and tension. With an aim to bring freedom, ease, and agency through experiential exercises and facilitated discussions we'll illuminate the mind-body connection and engage the whole self. This class is open to anyone regardless of movement background. Come as you are, dress comfortably, and bring your curiosity.

1:15–2:45pm: Contemporary Technique with Alicia Wilder:
Find your folds, follow your spirals and tap into your joy in this high energy contemporary class.  We will begin with a warm up, spend time traveling through space, and conclude with center phrase work. Movers can expect to connect with the floor, spend time upside down, and to play with hydraulic movement. Laughter, community connection, and self exploration are strongly encouraged!

3–5pm: Community Conversation:
This is the third and last in a series of Community Conversations around and about our regional contemporary dance community. This conversation will be centered around movement training, from the perspectives of both teachers and students. We’re curious about the infrastructure(s) that currently exist and/or are desired in support of the movement practices of our vibrant, diverse, and growing dance community. These Dance Community Conversations are organized by Motion State Arts and supported by Providence Art, Culture + Tourism. The first Conversation focused on choreographers and dance-making. The second was a discussion about the audience experience of seeing live performance in the digital age.
